Set Up
10 Players: 5 attackers & 5 defenders
40 x 40 yard pitch or a size appropriate for the level of player
In the centre of the pitch set up 4 cones to create a square about 10x10
Instructions
The objective is for the attacking team to keep possession for as long as necessary and attempt to pass the ball through the centre square to a team mate on the other side. If the defenders win possession, they can score in the same manner. The defending team cannot stand in the inner square nor can any player run through. If a player kicks the ball out of play, that player has to exit the pitch and do 10 skills moves, that the coach assigned at the beginning, before coming back in play. Play goes to the opposition if the ball is kicked out of play.
Coaching Points:
Create space for teammates, make the pitch big by changing direction and playing to space, awareness, quick passing, communication, receiving the ball on the run.

Setup:
10 players
Cones to mark out corners and the centre of the pitch
Set out a pitch the appropriate size for the players' abilities to make a good pass
2 players to begin in the centre, 1 each at opposite corners, and 3 each at opposite corners (see diagram)
Instruction:
The objective of the activity is to receive the pass on the back foot and direct the ball in the direction of the the pass that's going to be made to a waiting player. Play begins at opposite corners, where there are 3 each on the corner. Each has to have a ball and after dribbling a few yards, then makes the pass to the CM player. The CM has to receive and pass to the single player waiting at the corner. The corner player then dribbles the ball with pace and control to the corner with 3 players. Each player follows their pass and play is continuous.
Progression:
The CM passes to the corner player and the corner player plays a 1 touch back as the CM is running toward. The CM then plays a diagonal pass in the direction of the run being made by the corner player.
Coaching points:
Are the players keeping the balls moving and not passing a stationary ball?
Are the players checkin in and out when receiving the ball?
Are the players all receiving on the back foot?
Do the players understand why we are doing this activity? Hint: playing out from the back and changing the play to the other side.
