Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation:
Using 2 small goals, or cones if goals are unavailable.
Objective:
Simple catching exercise, focusing on body positioning when catching (strong core, bent knees, on toes) and hand positioning (W shape)
Players in pairs take turns between kicking and catching.
Progression: Player kicking the ball can now kick low allowing the keeper to dive and stop the ball.

Organisation:
Using a bigger goal, 9v9 goal in this case. And a box of cones with 2 slightly wider.
Objective:
Goalkeeper starts on their line with the ball, on coaches signal they move into the coned box and throw the ball to coach. Staying on their toes they wait for coach to signal a color (the outside cones), they then touch that cone and move back into position where coach will shoot on goal.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organisation:
Same as previous technical practice, cones are removed.
Objective:
Goalkeeper will catch a ball thrown in from the flank, one they have caught it and got the ball under the control they will roll it into coach who will then take a shot on goal, the goalkeeper will have to reshape and stop the shot.
We're focusing on catching and body positioning/movement. Staying on their toes and moving sideways keeping their eyes on the ball. Resting goalkeeper can take shots at goal and try to score to earn a point.

Warmup (5 mins)
Organisation:
3 different coloured cones are placed in front of each pair.
Objective:
A quick reaction game to get our keepers warmed up. Coach will shout a colored cone (each is a different color) and the two players facing each other race to pick up the cone. If this is too easy/boring, this can be played with the head, shoulders, knees and toes variation.
