Organisation
3/4 Pitch - Split into 3 sections (20yd / 40yd / 20yd) - 2 goals at either end.
6v6 + 2 GKs.
Rules / Objectives
Keep ball possession game in the middle section of the pitch.
When the ball is lost, the team now in possession plays the ball into a striker that has made a run into their attacking section to create a goal scoring opportunity.
GK then restarts play by playing the ball back into the middle section.
Initially, no defender is allowed to follow the attacker into the attacking section of the pitch.
The target of the session is to transition quickly from winning the ball to create a goal scoring opportunity.
Attacking player must time their runs so that they do not leave the middle section until the ball has been played through (offside).
Progressions
1) Add further players to the transition phase e.g 2v1 / 1v2 in the attacking section of the pitch.
2) Attacking team must transition from winning the ball to the attacking section within a time limit.
3) Limit the number of touches - Improve the tempo of play.
