Objectives:
1. Explain and demonstrate how to perform a bounce and chest pass effectively.
2. Provide feedback on how the participants can improve.
3. Utilise game based approaches to keep the participants interested.
Equipment: Set of cones, session plan, whistle, 16 basketballs
Venue: Cleeves Primary School
Population Group: Children (Primary 5, 6 & 7), mixed ability

Line drill:
In pairs, half of group on 1 line, other half on another line. 1 ball per pair/ 1 trio. Chest pass practice. How many chest passes in 8 seconds? First pair to 8 passes?Challenge/game:
Have them in their pairs or in trios. Move to middle line. Set the ball down in the middle. Coach calls out body parts and participants need to touch them. When coach says "Ball", participants reach forward and try to grab the ball first. Participant without the ball then must run and touch the wall behind them and come back.

Chest Pass:
Catch with W shaped hands
Step in
Push out with arms to chest
Bounce Pass:
Bounce the ball 3/4 of the way
Push the ball down from your chest
Have your hands where you want to receive the ball

Increase or decrease distance

Circle drill:
Split into groups, (25 kids = 5 groups of 5). Bib them up. 1 ball per group. Static for 40 seconds + competition - how many passes in 10 Seconds?. Dynamic for 40 seconds + competition. Add in defender from another group. Number each member of the group (number 1's run over/number 4's run over)

5 groups of 5 (can be adapted). Badminton court size. 2 games going at once - 1 team sitting out (get them cheering). Games done, swap over.

Number Pass:
Groups of 3-4 kids. Child at front has the ball and the others follow the child around the area. When the coach calls out a number, kids pass the ball that many times between themselves.
