Primary Focus
Individualised Session - Focus on CDM gaining possession and playing forward
Area Size
Half Pitch
Player No's
14 players in total - 7v7 (including GK's)Red - GK - 4-3-3 (missing one attacking CM & front three)
Blue - GK -4-3-3 (missing back four)
Working with red's and specifically the DCM
Timings
Total - 3 x 5 min blocks with 2 min recovery between block 1 & 2 and 2 & 3
Explanation
Ball starts from the GK.
Opposition now pressing with 1 striker and performing the pivot press.
Allow reds to switch via the GK and once the switch has happened and the opposition 10 goes to press CB - ensure red DCM movement into pocket to restrict the opposition 9 to cover the distance to track.
Important that red ACM moves onto ball side blue CM to scream the overload.
Ball side red FB to drop dow the line to create the space in shaded area (pocket).
Conditions
Reds can play into the big goal Vs opposition GK or to either the mini goals (replicated wide players for reds)
Challenge
Reds - look to play through CDM where possible. Goal worth 1 in mini goals and 2 in big goal
Blues - If possession is won, be direct. If the blues score within 6 seconds of regaining possession it's worth two goals.
What If's
Ball side blue wide player covers the DCM run - play FB and drive to entice winger to play bounce pass with DCM.

Player No's
14 players in total - 7v7 (including GK's)
Red - GK - 4-2-3-1 (missing attacking CM & front three)
Blue - GK -4-3-3 (missing back four)
Working with red's and specifically the DCM
Timings
Total - 3 x 5 min blocks with 2 min recovery between block 1 & 2 and 2 & 3
Explanation
Ball starts from the GK.
Two red CM start deeper.
Allow the red to play out Vs 1 red striker. Look to play and if they cannot play forward of find the DCM then look to switch.
On the switch, the FB to go high and inverted to occupy the opposition wide player and blue DCM.
CB to drop to receive the ball from the GK and drive forward if there is space in front.
DCM look to move into FB position (FFB) to create overload in wide areas to play forward.
Important that the other CM player looks to draw the opposition 10 on initial play out and then on the switch to reposition and make a forward run to occupy the opposition CM players.
What If's
Opposition CM follows red DCM into FFB position - CB continues to drive into space to draw defender out or could play straight to the inverted FB and DCM make overlapping run to the channel to create wide 2v1.

CDM Dropping To Create 4 vs 2 (Block 1)
Primary Focus
Individualised Session - Focus on CDM gaining possession and playing forward
Area Size
Half Pitch
Player No's
14 players in total - 7v7 (including GK's)
Red - GK - 4-3-3 (missing one attacking CM & front three)
Blue - GK -4-4-2 (missing back four)
Working with red's and specifically the DCM
Timings
Total - 3 x 5 min blocks with 2 min recovery between block 1 & 2 and 2 & 3
Explanation
Ball starts from the GK.
Movement from DCM to come down the line of the pitch as the FB go high and inverted to occupy Wide players and CM's for the opposition.
As DCM drops down the line, use the overload to get out from the back when opposition press high with two attackers.
Create the 4vs 2 with the GK to find the DCM to turn to play forward or to bounce to play around.
Important that ACM and FB create width and stay high to create space for the CB and DCM to play out.
What If's
Opposition CM drops with the red DCM - Look to bounce to GK and continue working the 4vs 3 with the GK. Creating a 3v3 higher up the pitch and finding higher CM to hold up and DCM to support from beneath.
