Option 1
Pass into left side of the diamond ( who creates space for himself by making two movements)
Then both stikers will stretch play taking centre backs wider of the zone 14, this is done at pace and only make runs once player is ready to pass ball. This will cause distraction and making the distances between pair very big.
The player at the top of the diamond will make run forward into zone 14 and exploit the space thats been left.

Option 2
As previous, but top of the diamond comes short giving the space for the right side of the diamond to run onto the pass.
Same movement but looking at a different midielder making the run into zone.
Again, timing direction and angle of runs are vital.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Option 3
Pass is now played into second strikers feet, with the right of diamond making the run to get the pass into feet to go and shoot at goal .
Second striker will recieving pass into feet, shielding ball and keeping himself between defender and ball.
Runner from midfield will have to set off quite early as its a big distance to make up. He will have the option of running inside or outside, depending on how close the attacker recieves the ball.

Weaknesses
1 if back four stay narrow then the area wont be able to be expoloited, we will then have to look to get into the channels
2 If we lose the ball when midfield runners have gone forward then we would be out numbered and exposed to the counter attack.
3 Playing with a diamond means we would have problems in wider araes , leaving our full backs defending 1v1 .

30 Minute Game
Coaching points
all of the above, reimforcing
Creating space for others
Timing of runs/ angle of run
Timing of pass/ weight of pass
Direction of movement.
Awareness of midfileders and defenders in possession as when to play balls into zone 14 area.
Objectives
Create shooting opportunities.
Create space and overload numbers within the zone 14 area.
Hopefully giving players different ideas and solutions of how to acheive success in this task.

Reflection.
Players used:Llangynwydd 1st team
DESCRIPTION.. What happend.....
Using 20 players and 2 goalkeepers.
Session worked quite well the players involved picked up the patterns and movment quickly. However, defensive players were a little distracted during the first 15 minutes before the game.
After showing demonstrations and using a autocratic approach the team did take the information on board and the objectives were achieved
Feelings....
Before.. I knew the players mostly involved in the patterns would love the session, I wasnt sure on the others.
During... Session started ok, bit sloppy and the movement wasnt game realistic. This improved, but players whio werent fully involved did find the first 15 minute period quite slow.
But during the 30 minute game it soon became clear that they had took everything asked of them on board.
After..Players realised there are several ways of getting into zone 14. The use of unselfish runs to create space for others gave players a better understanding.
EVALUATION.
Good. Players understanding from both the strikers and midfielders who rotated in making runs forward was excellent.
Bad. Now and again a couple of players felt that the session didnt ionvolved them. They switched off in the beginning and on a couple of occasions in the game they could have made the passes into zone 14 that we had worked on in the first 15 minutes.
Analysis... How I influenced session....
Observing palyers and thier movement. Diagonsing problems as they arose in the 30 minute game.
Vocally giving instruction and just the odd reminders of when and how to make runs..
Conclusion...
Session worked quite well, but i could see 1 or 2 players frustration as it was focussed on the final third area.
Action Plan..
Next time we conduct this session i can progress it to look at positions we need to be in for when we lose possession.
Limitations..
No real limitations within the session. Players saw the benefit of making unselfish runs.
