Effect Red 9
Can Red 9 play as high as possible in order to try to occupy both CB's? Make the pitch as long as possible in order to create space either for him to receive the ball or for Red 10 to utilise? How can Red 9 keep the CB's occupied? Movement?
Can Red 9 create space in which to receive the ball? bump back and sprint forward? Swith with Red 10?
What if Red 9 becomes man marked, can he use this to his teams advantage by creating spaces for his team mates to exploit? Withdraw from area to create space taking defender with him?
If Red 9 receives the ball, can he turn and shoot? Or can Red 9 turn and set up a team mate with a short pass? Which team mates would he be looking to pass to? Can a player get behind the defence in order to reveive a pass from the Red 9? Look for the movement of Red 7 cutting in, or Red 10.
If Red 9 cannot turn, can the player passing the ball to him assist him by communicating 'man on'?; If Red 9 cannot turn, who can he lay the ball back to? Red 8? Red 7? Red 11, Red 10 if Red 10 has dropped off? Once the ball has been laid off by Red 9, can he turn and find space for a return pass? Switch with Red 10?
Effect Red 10
Can Red 10 find space between the Blue DM and the 2 CB's to receive the ball? If not, can he look to switch with Red 9 to create confusion amongst defence and space?
Can Red 10 and Red 9 back off from each other in order to create space for Red 8 to exploit?
If Red 9 moves to receive the ball, acts as a trigger for Red 10 to sprint into position to receive pass from Red 9, or if marked, to back off and take defender in order to create space for Red 9 to turn and shoot or lay off to another player?
If Red 10 receives the ball, can Red 10 turn and shoot? or look to play someone else in? If so? who? Red 11 making a run into zone 14? Red 9 looking to get behind the defence?
If Red 10 cannot turn, can he lay the ball off to another player? Red 8? Red 11, Red 7 or Red 9?
Once the ball has been laid off, can Red10 move quickly into space to receive a return pass?
Effect 9 & 10
Communication is key between Red 9 & 10, who must look to create space not only for themselves but also each other. If marked, can the players switch positions to create confusion in the defence in order to create space? Or back off in order tocreate space to allow Red 8 to enter zone 14.
What are the trigger points for Red 9 & 10 movement? As the point the ball is played into one of them, can the other move to create further space to receive the ball or to create space to allow the player receiving the ball to turn and shoot or pass?
Communication, quick, short accurate passes are the key to opening Zone 14.

Effect Red 6 & 8
Can the Red 6 & 8 create space to receive the ball from the server? enticing deep blue MF out of Zone 14 to pick one of them up? Can they move away from each other to make it more difficult for blue deep MF to mark both of them?
Can either the Red 6 or 8 distribute the ball to Red 10 or 9? Trigger? Bump back and as they sprint forward can he release the ball to them? Or if they switch - can he release the ball quickly as they create space?
Can Red 6 or 8 assist Red 9 or 10 by communiacting as he plays the ball to them - 'man on' or 'turn'?
If Red 9 and 10 move away from each other, is enough space crreated to enable Red 6 or 8 to join Zone 14 by dribbling? or playing a 1-2 with Red 9 or Red 10?
Can the Red 6 or 8 create space for Red 9 or 10 by occupying the Blue DM? Trying to draw Blue DM out of Zone 14?
What if Red 6 or 8 is tightly marked? Can he move away from zone 14 taking Blue DM with him? But be ready to support Red 9 or 10 should the ball be played into them by Red 7 or 11 by sprinting forward to try to lose his marker?
What if Red 6 or 8 plays the ball to Red 9 or 10 who can't turn? Can he move into Zone 14 to create space for a return pass?
What if Red 9 and 10 are tightly marked? Can Red 6 or 8 play the ball out to 7 or 11 with the aim of them playing the ball into Zone 14, and Red 6 or 8 then moving into a position to receive the ball off Red 9 or 10?
After Red 6 or 8 plays the ball into Red 9 or 10, can he move into a position to asist the attack within Zone 14?
See above example - Red 8 passes to Red 7, and as he does so, Red 9 moves to edge of Zone 14 to receive pass off Red 7; as Red 7 plays the ball to Red 9, Red b moves into a position within Zone 14 to receive pass inside.
If Blue FB's tuck in & play narrow and deny space in Zone 14 keep playing the ball to Red 7 & 11. This will hopefully draw the FB's out and create space for 8, 9 & 10.
What if Red 6 or 8 enters Zone 14 to join the attack? What should the remaining red 6 or 8 do? provide cover centrally?

Effect Red 7 & 11
Can Red 7 & 11 remain high and wide in order to occupy the LB and RB - thus creating more space for Red 9 & 10?
What if Blue LB & RB remain narrow in defence? What would happen in a real match? Would Red 7 & 11 remain high and wide, or come in narrow as well? With Blue LB and RB playing narrower what other opportunities are created for Red 7 & 11? Can they use the space they have created to hit the touch line and cross the ball in?
Assuming Blue LB and RB mark high and wide Red 7 & 11, can Red 7 & 11 create space to receive a pass off Red 8, in order to play the ball into a red player within Zone 14? or behind Defence?

Phase 1
Work with 9 and 10. We dont want them on train tracks, split the pitch in the middle visually.
Get the ball from the back. 4/8 split wide to allow ball to be played through. Create angles, one go to ball, other into space to join in attack. 9 stays on the side of the ball, 10 goes diagonally.
If CB drives in then 8 or 4 drop in top keep it 2 v 1.
Phase 2
Trigger for the 4 or 8 is when the ball is played past them. Only 1 goes, the other sits in and plays the holding role.
Phase 3
Wide men, starting point is high and touchline wide.
