SET UP
Dribbling Gates (10 mins)
- Create a grid 20x20 or larger
- Create gates (2 cones 2yds apart)
- Every player with a ball. Players dribble through gates doing a series of moves on coaches demand.
KEY POINTS
- Emphasize on trying to keep the ball close for better control
-once through a gate change speed, change direction.
- Keep heads up to see where they are going
PROGRESSION
- Using different feet and different parts of the foot
- As they approach the gate, have them stop the ball and then continue going forward. As they approach the gate, have them stop the ball and pull it back in the opposite direction.
- Dribble through colored gates that match coach's command.
- Make it a competition: ie. Who can get through x number of gates before a new colour is called

Set up a 20x20 grid, place a bunch of scattered cones in the middle of the grid (traffic)
OBJECTIVE
1st player in the beginning of each line dribble through the traffic.
Once through the traffic players make a pass to the player diagonally across from your line, follow your pass and join that line.
PROGRESSION
add 2 nets and give each player a ball, have players dribble through the traffic, once through the 1st player to score wins that round, next player in each line go.

Set up 20 x 20 grid, bigger or smaller depending on the number of players, each player has a ball.
OBEJECTIVE
Players dribble around the grid, protecting their ball, while trying to kick out their opponents ball.
Keep control of your own ball, players cannot leave their ball to kick out an opponents. Stay within a yard of your ball when you go to kick an opponents ball out.
If your ball has ben kicked out preform a series of ball mastery skills, tic toks, toe taps, scissors, sole rolls. (5) of each and then players can re enter the game.

squirrles and Nuts (10 mins)
Set up 20x20 grid with a 5x5 grid in the middle
20 balls in the middle of the 5x5 (nuts)
split players into even teams of 4. approx. 3-4 per team
OBJECTIVE
relay race one at a time in each group run towards the small middle grid
you can have them do a variety of physical literacy movements each round while they go towards the "nuts"
- hop on 1 foot, 2 footed hops, crab crawl, skip, bear crawl, sprint.
Once they reach the "nuts" have them preform a ball mastery skill to get a ball.
-drag back, sole roll, outside turn, inside turn, scissors (before they grab a ball)
Once the nuts have been collected, to restart the game have players then perform tik toks, toe taps, outside/inside dribble etc with the ball and put the nuts back in the middle. Still a competition one player from each line going at a time.
Once they preform a skill have them dribble the ball back to their line
Most "nuts in the groups win.
