Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Creating Angles off the Ball

Rondo (15 mins)

Organization:

- 4 squares, 4 players in each square numbered 1-4

- Coach yells a numer, the player called will become the defender for the next group

Aim:

- Keep possession of the ball under pressure

Rules:

- Once the ball goes out of play or the defender wins possession of the ball the game is done and the defender goes back to their square.

- The last group to lose their ball wins

- Play until one group gets 5 points

Variables:

- Depending on the numer of players you can add another group or increase number of players in a square.

Screen 3

Set up 4 zones. In each zone, it should be 2v1 or 2v2.

The players in possession (Team Yellow) must remain inside their zone as they move the ball around defenders (team black).

Team Yellow earns one point for every 10 passes completed, and 2 points if at some point during those 10 passes into the middle player and into a different zone. The player in the middle is limited to 2 touches.

If Team Black wins possession, they earn 2 points by passing into any of the mini goals. 

Progressions:

1. Players can move into other zones. 

2. Middle player can step out at any time as long as another player replaces them. 

3. Add another ball.

4. Add 2 more defenders. (No more than 2 defenders can be in a zone at one time)
