Description

Passing drill executed as pictured. Focused on moving the ball from one side of the pitch to the other.

Aim for 2 touch maximum, 3 touch allowed. 1 touch if surface allows for clean ball movement.

Start off with simple passing and no movement off cones - get the rythym going and players understanding the drill

Progression 1: Players now check off their cones to create space off attackers closing them down.

Progression 2: Add a bounce from player 2 to player 1. Explain a real game scenario of a player pressing player 2 and blocking the option to player 3.

Progression 3: Adding in another bounce from player 3 to player 2. This would replicate when two players are applying pressure to players 2 and 3.

Progression 4: Reverse the play, starting with only one bounce (what was done in progression 2). After 2 minutes add in the second bounce.

Coaching Emphasis:

Players to open up and receive on back foot.

Sharp, firm passes emulating a real-game scenario.

Aim to always receive on back foot.
