Objective

To improve players 1 v 1 ability 

Organization

20 x 15 area

Players A plays a pass across to player B and defends. 

Player B attacks and tries to unbalance the defender

Coaching Points 

Exploit space, get 1st touch out of the body, into space to make up ground

Assess the defenders' position, angle, and distance of approach

Keep the ball close to the body as you approach the defender

Use maneuver to beat the defender – use your body or the ball

Accelerate past the defender and exploit the space created

Give an end product

Interval Duration

2-minute interval of each forward move

To improve players ability to pass and receive on the move

Organization

Set up as shown in the diagram

Balls start on the halfway line 

Each side alternates

Coaching Points

Passing 

Standing foot planted beside ball – Point toe at target

Lock kicking foot

Strikethrough middle of the ball

Body Weight over the ball

Receiving 

Get in line with the flight of the ball

Visual check

Offer the surface

Withdraw the surface to cushion the ball

Pattern changes every 2 minutes 

Players must rotate each side

Attacking in the middle third (15 mins)

Objective

To improve the teams' ability to attack from the middle third

Organization

Set up on the halfway line, starts the 3 v 2 

When the 2 win possession they can play wide or forward in order to attack the goal

If unable to play forward, play wide and try to combine with the 7 & 11
