4 goal game
3v3+1, 4v4, or 5v5 depending on numbers. With more numbers you can play with targets on the touchlines as bounce players.
Two even teams, with a neutral if numbers are odd. Four goals facing the outside of the grid, all four goals are fair game, and team in possesion can score on any of them. Forces defending team to defend all four goals, and makes them shift with the play.
Coaching points:
-Defending as a unit: if attacking team is playing close together in a smaller area can the defending team press and limit the attacking team to scoring on only one goal. If attacking team chooses to spread the pitch, can the defending team anticipate a switch of play and stop it without getting picked apart.
-Preventing goals:
-Attacking end: can attackers use neutral effectively to make the most of a 4v3 situation.

4v4 or 6v4 (dependent on numbers) -TWO TOUCH
Two variations: 1) Two zones of 4 with goals behind defendng team, OR 2) three zones (2 zones with 4, one zone with one or two target players) with no goals.
Variation 1: Red players look to play a penetrating pass/finish into any of the goals behind blue's defensive line. Only one blue player can apply pressure in red team's grid. If red scores or if blue wins the ball, it becomes a 4v4 and both teams can play in both zones. Blues will look to dirbble across the line, while reds can score again.
Variation 2: No goals but instead two target players in the third zone. Same as before: red looks to play a penetrating pass into target players who will look to keep possesion until they can ping a ball back into the red team. If blue wins the ball, they will attack the endline of the team who they won it from and play a two zone either 4v4 or 4v2. As before, the defending team can send a player into either zone to go press.
Coaching points:
-Denying pentrating passes/goals
-Players applying pressure: only one allowed in grid, so how do we know when to lay off the press to let a teammate know they can go?
-Transition moment recognization: can defensive team quickly transition after defending well and limiting the opportunities.
Attacking end: focus on through passes, not long balls although both are allowed. Make opposing team work so the long bll becomes the only way to play through.

Buildout to Defensive transition (5v4) or (6v3) dependent on numbers
Backline of 4 + #6 (if numbers allow) vs frontline of 3 + coach. Ball starts with goalkeeper, who will look to buildout with backline. Backline will be looking to play coach's feet who will immediately play the ball to the attacking team to start the break. Blue must then transition and get into their shape to deny the shot.
Coaching points:
-Defensive transition
-Forcing front three to play wide rather than central
-earlier ball into coach to prevent space in behind from being open
Attacking end: recognizing the defensive organizition of backline before and after the ball is played into the target (coach).
-Taking shots earlier, unsettling backline as they are backpedalling
