Set up 2 cones roughly 5 yards apart and a goal 15 yards away.
Get the players to line up behind both cones and pass back and forth while moving towards the net. Once they have reached a certain point (can be a cone marker or the D) whoever has the ball can shoot on net. Make sure they have their stick down when they are running as it acts as a target for the other player to aim for. Try to get them to pass at least 3 times before shooting.
Coaching tips:
-Make sure the players' feet are pointed forwards (towards net) and their feet aren't planted and static when they are receiving/passing the ball.
-you can make it a competition by getting the players to count how many passes they make before shooting (but make sure they are still moving forward)
-to improve shooting accuracy, remind them to look up and make sure the ball is rolling towards the net before they shoot.
Progression:
- move the cones farther apart or further away from the net
- player on the left cone can practice receiving on their backhand
- add a defender so it's a 2 v 1. The attackers can begin passing and approaching the goal. Once they reach a certain point the defender can try to steal the ball (preferably) or hit it away.

Blue player (defender) passes to Red player (attacker). Red players objection is to score in yellow gate. Blue players objection channel the attacker into the blue gate.
Key points for Defender:
- they don't need to make the tackle, they just want to keep the player on the outside
- don't let attacker cut inside/behind them
- body positioning isn't too far in front
- protect their feet

Same as the last couple weeks. Please split your team into two.
Coaches
- don't hesitate to stop the game, ask the players to spread out, and then resume
- once your team loses the ball, get your players to immediately back up, find a check or space, and get in their ready position
- when your team is attacking, encourage your team to find and attack the open goal.
