Coaching points/learning objectives
Progression(s)
- Scoring in teams of 3 (1 GK and 2 outfielders, GKs rotate each round)
- Individual competition rather than teams; GK with most goals conceded switches out and winning GK stays in. GK with most wins is champion)
- Differentiate scoring to challenge individuals i.e. start 1-0 down to add pressure

Technical Practice
Instructions/Explanations:
Option 1:
- GK starts centrally and drops to receive volley
- Small lateral movement to receive volley from server 2
- GK readjusts to receive angled strike from floor from server 3
Option 2:
- GK drops and server 1 clips into hands, GK rolls ball to server 3
- GK moves to near post and performs quarter turn movement to receive strike from server 2 (replicating cutback near post)
- GK performs larger movement to opposite side for angled strike from floor (player can shift ball before shooting to trigger scanning and readjustment
Option 3
- GK drop and receive back pass (Coach press to encourage scanning/ touch away from pressure)
- GK pass to CB at that side who can then strike on goal or set back to striker on edge of back to shoot (Can beat mannequin, combine with CM/ winger)
- GK then has small readjustment to opposite for angled strike
Coaching Points:
- Efficient handling technique
- Decision making regarding type of handling/ hold parry
- Seeing triggers to decelerate and become balanced/ set
- Effective movement/ choice of movement both short and longer range
- Supporting movements in possession, scanning, quality of control and pass
