Defensive pressure- 15 minutes, 6v6 plus 6
Grid size-30x45, 5 yard neutral zone as above
Objective- defensive team to apply pressure to win the ball and play it across the field to other zone.
Ball is played into one grid who becomes the attacking team. To score a point the attacking team must complete a minimum of 2 passes before playing across to the far grid. If the defenders win the ball they play the ball to the far grid. As these transitions occur, the team that initially was attacking transitions to defend in the far grid. The team that defended, transitions to support the team that now has the ball.
Coaching Points:
- communication
- pressure, what player, what kind of pressure, when to press
- angle of pressure, consider area of the field
- how many players press, how many cover, how many support
