Slap Cut Technique: Jaguars Edgemont

Organization:
As above. Field approx 30x30. Cone walls set up as above in center of the grid. Players in two lines all with soccer balls.
Instructions:
Players dribble forward to the 'Laser Wall', preform the slap cut technique and score a goal, before heading back to line. Have players swich sides after 5 minutes.
Coaching Points:
* Sole roll the ball
* Plant leg like a spring to push you the other way
* Big touch to get out of turn quickly
* Exit touch with outside pinky toe of same foot that preformed the sole roll
* Good pass to goal
Progressions:
1) Have player lines become teams. First team to score 7 goals with the correct technique of slap cut win.

Organization:
Grids set up as above. Total grid 30x30. Each half 15x30. Two pug goals set up as shown. Closest goals on a angle on touchline. Players in four lines total, two lines for each grid. Attacking lines with balls are closest to center of the playing area.
Instructions:
Players make eye contact and game begins on attacker's first touch. Attacker tries to score in either goal for a point, defender tries to dribble across the center line for a point. Players then switch lines on their side after going. After 5 minutes, have players switch grids (left foot/right foot).
Coaching Points:
* Correct timing of move to beat a defender (visual cues from defender)
* Recognize momentum in a defender
* Quick feet to change direction
* Visual Cue: When defender is on the side about to cut you off
* Use of arms to feel for defender
* Correct slap cut technique to beat a defender
Progressions:
P- Near goal is worth 2 points, and 3 points if they are able to preform a slap cut turn to beat the defender
R- Attackers can take a full touch before defenders can defend

4v4 Festival rules. Kick ins, defending team behind the white line on goal kicks
Coaching Points:
* Defender in front to cut off dribble? Cue for Cryuff turn
* Using body to protect ball
* Attacking 1v1s with speed
* Help players understand the rules of the game

Players dribble in the area after listening to coaches command. Coach will use a variety of touches and different dribbling techniques:
-Inside touches

-Strong/weak foot touches
-Soll roll touches
-Laces touches
-Outside cut technique
-Inside cut technique
-Review Cryuff Turn
-Review passing (half players with balls, half without balls)
Coaching Points:
* Qaulity touches on the ball
* Eyes up after every touch to watch out for other players
* Short 'Messi' touches to keep the ball close, big 'Ronaldo' touches to push the ball into space to go faster
Progressions:
1) Knockout in the same area (players must control their ball while trying to knock other players balls out of the area with poke tackles
