In this activity, the coach starts the drill with a ball into the attacking group. He will give a whistle or command which will signal for the two outside backs to take off and loop around the corner flags. This presents the offense with a 5v3 situation. They should look to make quick passes and score before the two outside backs return, presenting them with an even number situation (5v5).
The goal is to utilize the numbers advantage.
Defensive players always rotate one position to the right, so that its not the same players running around the flags and they are exposed to all positions across a back line.

Wall Pass Warm Up Progression (15 mins)
In the first progression, the player plays the ball to the nearest CM and plays a 1-2 ball with that player. That CM touches the ball back into his path and he dribbles through the gate, then plays the ball to the next line. The passing sequence is repeated in the opposite direction. Sequence continues at high tempo for at least 5-7 minutes. Play one touch soccer if possible.
In the second progression, the player initiates the sequence by passing to first CM player and getting the ball right back. He then passes, through the gate, to the next line. That player, plays the ball to the second CM player, who plays it to the player who initiated the sequnce and then back to the player who is first in the next line. The sequence then happens in the opposite direction. Try to play one touch soccer. Communicate clearly your intentions.
