Stage: Stage 2

Set Up:

20x25 yard field, cones, pinnnis, mini goals, balls

Time:

15 - 20 mins (2 min games x 1 min rest)

Organization:

Players need to play in their roles to simulated game like experiences. Ball starts from blue playing accross to their partner. Can start without opposition to work on overlapping patterns. Defender goes when the ball goes. Attacking team completes an overlapping run immediatley, then they look to tattack the two small goes on the width. Cannon score until they enter the scoring zone. If defender wins the ball they can counter on the central mini goal.

Coaching Points:

Execute the overlap run to create a 2v1 on the width. Player recieving ball (#7 or #11) dribbles centrally to help open up angle for overlapping player

Recognize what the defender is giving them (Penetration on the dribble or pass)

Utilize the outside of the foot pass

Progressions:

Defender Plays the ball out

Remove mandate of overlapping run

Move to 2v2s
