-To become faster at reacting to commands and to the ball.
-To use quick reaction time to become better prepared when receiving an incoming ball.

Cone/Line
-Coach gives players instructions such as: 5 push ups, vertical jumps, squats, lunges, sit ups, burpess, back to back, side to side...(be creative!)
-Players however must brace themselves for 2 specific instructions, which when called mean they must race against their partner to complete it faster. These are:
Cone= pick up the cone; and Line= sprint to your nearest Red line and back to cone (pick it up).
-Award 1 point to those who obtain the cone.
Crows & Cranes
-Now, all Blue players are= Crows & yellow players are= Cranes.
-Players must listen out for either word.
-When YOUR word is called, YOU must try to catch the other player before they cross their Red line (line closest to them= base).
-When the OTHER word is called, THEY must try to catch you before you cross your Red base. (See example).

Combine Passing/Receiving & Reaction Time
Organisation
-Players work in pairs, one thrower (Yellow) and receivers (Blue).
Description
NO BALL
-Throwers must call a colour and players must sprint toward that cone (and touch it with their hand), before returning into the recovery position (white marker). They must always face the thrower when running.
-Call various sequences of colours (no more than 3 colours) i.e. Red, Red, Blue- ensure to recover to the middle after each cone.
-Now when Blue is called, players must jump as high as they can (pretending to header the ball).
-Start in different positions (lying down, sitting, on knees, push up)
ADD BALL
-Now, throwers will use their inside pass to send ball to their partner, to the coloured cone they call.
-Runners must then use inside passes to send ball back to the thrower, and return to the white marker.
-Ensure: Yellow= Left foot pass; Red= Right foot pass; Blue= Any.
Progressions
-Blue= Header
-Now throw ball in the air for them to cushion, before passing; cover parts of the body used last week: work from bottom (feet), to knee, chest and then head.
-Now players must not the ball touch the ground when receiving a pass (give each player 3 lives). They have maximum 2 touches in the air before then volley passing the ball back to the thrower.
1) Now, players will repeat the same but rotate clockwise after every go.
2) Competition: Now, receivers will try to volley the ball back to the thrower using the laces or inside of the foot. If the ball drops and hits the floor, they loose a life. Everyone has two lives. Switch players around after there is a winner.
Coaching Points
-When cushioning the ball, try to be as delicate as possible with your touch to slow the ball down and bring it close to you.
-When throwing or receiving, be ready on your toes to react quickly to directional change of the ball.

Adapted Reaction Game
-Defenders Vs Strikers.
-Strikers start in the middle of their 3 cones, facing away from the defender.
-They must wait for defender to call a colour and pass the ball to them (ground pass or air throw).
-When the colour is called, strikers must turn around and then move to cone, receiving the ball with close and careful ball control, using the most appropriate body part.
-They must then dribble and try to beat the defender, to then score!
-Number Pitches from 1(highest rank) to 3 (lowest rank).
-Give players 3 turns each- the player with most wins moves UP one pitch i.e. winner from 3 moves to 2. Winner from 1 would remain there.
