Each team should have 4 players minimum
Set Up
Set up a tic-tac-toe grid with cones as shown in the diagram. About 10 yards away from the tic-tac-toe grid place two cones for players to line up at. Give the first four players in each line pennies that they can place on the tic tac to grid. The two lines need to have different color pennies to identify which group places them on the grid.
How It Works
On the ‘go’ signal, the first player in each line runs down to the tic-tac-toe grid and places their pennie on a cone. The first player then runs back and tags the next player in line who runs down to put their pennies in play. The objective is for one team to get three pennies in a row. Once a team has all four pennies in play, the players who run down must move one of their teams pennies that is already on the grid to a new location. The game goes on until one of the teams wins.
Coaching Points
This game emphasizes decision making. Before players get down to the grid, they should already have an idea in mind where they want to place their pennie.
Variation: Each player has a ball and must dribble to the grid and back.

Organization:
- Lanes 6x18yrds
- Numbers in lines can be adjusted for reps or fitness level
- Second player in line should be a couple yards back to allow room for overlap
- One ball in play at a time in each lane
- Player from line A dribbles at max speed to line B's feet, Player from line B dribbles at speed as Player from line A overlaps them and races them back to line A. Player from line B dribbles to Line A's feet and the process repeats indefinitely
- These are races, no tackling or winning the ball
Coaching Points:
*Dribbling with laces
*Dribble with foot away from "defender"
*Head up
*Dribble all the way to the next player's foot
Adjustments/Adaptations:
- Add in hesitation skills
- Add in Change of Direction skills ("defender" has to change and race back to the same line)

Organization:
- 5-7 players in a 10x10 square
Prog 1:
Players pass and follow their pass.
Adjustment:
- Players move to the space of the player who played them the ball
Prog 2:
Players move off the ball. Space that has been opened by moving player needs to be filled and shape should be balanced.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Orgainization:
- 10 x 20 lanes with a 2yrd vertical gate at each end, players line up on opposite sides of the vertical gates
- Ball is passed in to player from midline, player must take first touch through gate at a diagonal forward past "defender", takes a bold touch to midline, and plays in to the next player. Players rotate to the line they play into.
- 3 touch rythm
Progressions:
- Inside foot touch across body through gate, outside foot touch, inside then outside touch through gate (Mathews), Switch sides of the gate to use other foot to receive and other foot to pass in.
- After passing in, player can sprint at receiving player to simulate pressure.
Coaching Points:
*Positive first touch eliminating defender
*Bold touch to midline to accelerate away from pressure
*Check shoulder before receiving
*Up on toes before receiving
*When receiving with outside of foot don't open up too much or touch will go square or negative

Organization
- Groups of 4-6 players in each lane in lines of 2-3 players
- Balls start at the front of each line
- First player in line dribbles to the middle of lane and executes a change of direction skill, then passes back to the line they came from, returns to the end of the line
* Step-on, inside cut, outside cut, Cruyff turn, hook turn, half Maradona
* dribble at speed, head up
* alternate feet used to execute the skill each time
* Show alternate hesitation pair skill for the change of direction skill: fake stop, inside/inside, Maradona, stepon/stepover, ect
