Three keepers are set up

Player C volleys to Player A

Player A catches and returns to Player C

Player A then shuffles across goal and saves a low shot from Player B

5 to 10 reps then rotate

SHADOW GOALKEEPERS

GOALKEEPING SHADOW GOALKEEPERS

Instructions: Player passes to first goalkeeper on ground.

Goalkeeper controls with hands and rolls back to player. Player then takes a touch dribbles and attempts to score. 

Second goalkeeper tries to save ball of first goalkeeper fails to do so. If this happens, he becomes first goalkeeper. If ball squirts out, first goalkeeper to ball becomes first goalkeeper next. 

Coaching Points 

  • Close ground to make angle difficult to score
  • if ball squirts out after save get up on it
  • Follow all balls out of bounds don't assume they will go out

A goalkeeper and to servers shown

The keeper receives a volley from Player B on the six yard line

The keeper must then save a ball of medium height by the post from Player C

Total of 6 reps then rotate

4V4 THRU 3 CONE GOALS WITH GOALKEEPER BEHIND

30X20 as needed

Two teams against each other. Play for time, most goals wins. 

To score, a player must play a pass/shot thru one of the cone goals and over the 5 yard endzone line that a goalkeeper protects. A goalkeeper works behind the goals and looks to save the balls before they go thru the goal and pasT their endzone

X2 passes ball to GK who deals with pass and returns 1 or 2 touch through gate

GK then gets across the goal ASAP in position to save a shot from X1

X1 takes a touch out of feet and strikes at goal

Three goalkeepers

One goalkeeper serves another with back to goal who turns and attempts to score on the goalkeeper in goal

If the goalkeeper is able to save and hold the ball, they quickly throw the ball into either one of the small goals

Each goalkeeper receives 6 reps then rotate
