Overall session working on possession principles.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Method: 5v2 Rondo Drill. 12X10 Yard square.
Team in possession gets a point for every 5 passes they play without the middle players winning the ball back. After every 5 passes or every time the ball leaves the grid the next set of pressing players come in.
After 2-3 Minutes of pressing teams rotate. Keep overall score to make it competitive.
Coaching Points: Encourage players to have an open body shape when receiving the ball so they can play quickly. Ask players to pass and receive of both feed and to find the middle player to break the defending teams press.

Method: 20x20 yard grid. Possession game with neutral players. Goal of the team in possession to build from one end of the grid to the other without the ball being intercepted. For every time a team gets the ball to the opposite side a point is given.
Coaching Points: Build on principles of possession in previous drill. E.G open body shape when receiving and angles when receiving. Now have a more tactical focus. Can team in possession stretch the pitch and make it as difficult as possible for the defending team to win the ball back. Encourage to use overloads in possession and to try switch the point of possession on 2 touches.

Method: SSG Set up using lenght of the pitch and width of the box. Variations on conditions.
Variation 1: 2 Touch game.
Variation 2: Players must build to 5 passes before scoring.
Variation 3: Game is open.
Coaching Points: Build on what we have been working on throughout the session. Remind players of principles when in possession. Allow for free play and for players to make their own decisions.

Passing Pattern Warmup (10 mins)
Method: Cones Set up 10 yards apart. Start of by players playing clockwise. After every pass player must follow their pass. Add an extra football in as time progresses.
Variation 1: At each cone now a player must play a 1-2.
Variation 2: Player plays a pass back to the player who played them the pass who then plays a longer pass diagonally to the player on the opposite cone.
Coaching Points: Encourage players to have an open body shape when receiving the ball. Can they open out and play right away.
As the drill progresses focus on weight of the set back and longer pass.
