SWITCHING PLAY UNDER PRESSURE (20 mins)
Switching Play Under Pressure:
6 v 3 with 3 possession players at either end.
3 defenders in middle third.
Only 1 defender can attempt to win the ball back with the other 2 defenders looking to block any passing lanes in behind.
Blacks must play 5 consecutive passes then transfer the ball on the ground to black teammates in end zone.
If ball is transferred succesfully a different defender enters the zone to win the ball with the initial defender joining his teammate in the middle third to block any passes.
Players are restricted to 2 touch.
Players should try to transfer ball as quickly as possible.
Change defenders from middle third after a short time.
Progress:
1 x black can enter middle to third to act as a link between the thirds. If he can receive he should turn and pass the ball into his own third then take part in the 3 v 1.
Progress:
2 x blacks can enter middle third to act as a link between the thirds. If either black can receive they should turn and pass the ball into his own third to remaining black then take part in the 3 v 1.
