In this exercise we are looking to play a 2v3 situation at the small goals. The grid is a 20x20. The defender will pass the ball to the attacking player and will either 1 or two touch the central attacking player. Once the center attacking player receives the ball the defending players are now quickly pressing at an angle, if they recover the ball the central player now becomes part of the defending team that is in possession of the ball to create a 3v2 situation
coaching points

pick the moment when to press

In this exercise we are going to focus on developing teams defensive organisation and ability to counterfrom deep. We have an 8 v 8 in two thirds of the playing area with the Blue team starting inpossession and looking to shift the defensive team and penetrate through to score in either of thethree mini-goals. If the Reds win possession, they must counter quickly to break into the oppositionfinal third where a 3 v 2 attack takes place. If a shot/ goal occurs the practice restarts with Blues inpossession. If the Blues win possession, they can counter to create a 6 v 5 attacking overload.

In this warm up the players will play a 3v1 rondo. We are focusing on the defending player to block passing lanes. Players will hold a color pennie and once the defender gets the ball then the player drops the pennie and becomes an attacking player. We're looking to have a flow of games where the attacking players are moving the ball quickly to challenge the defender.
