Introduction to occupying positional lanes and spaces to open up opposition and cover vulnerable space when defending.
Move off the ball and overload the same lanes/lines
On Ball: Can you Dribble towards a teammate? When you have the ball, dribble towards a teammate to draw in a defender.
Off Ball: Can you run towards the teammate in possession? When we are in possession, run either to the same line/lane of the ball carrier
Defenders cover the central positional lanes on final line
Eg: defenders shuffle across, cover all spaces in front of goal, avoid pressing in wide space unless covered
CBs never more than 10-15 yards/ a 5th space apart (unless 6 drops in)
Top Players to all be in different positional lane 5ths
Eg: winger, highest central player and 2nd highest central player are all in different 5ths
Winger and FB in opposing 5th space
Never in the same lane, either in half space or wide space

Players are to get into groups of three. Trios must combine with a 1-2 in the same square before playing out of it.
Players that pass out of square must leave and find empty one. 1 goes to the ball, the other a new square next to square with the ball in.
CUES: Back foot, reduce bobbles and move in line with possession to create space in front.
4 x 2.5 minutes with 30 seconds rest.See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Rondos:

Introduction to the lanes
- Game starts from either end, just familiarising the lanes with the players when defending and attacking. Both teams need to get over orange line before shooting.
Team Task:
Can we cover the 3 central lanes when defending, keeping 2 in the very center at all times and cover all lanes when attacking?
Try and remain inside the width of penalty box.

If less than 14 players, only go as wide as pen box, encourage same principles
