Method:7v5 12 Players (25-30 mins) Playing out from the back-Transition from defending to attack.
Add two small nets (to act as wide player position)
Orange team have the extra player-blue team have to work harder.
when the orange score then the coach feeds blue team a ball so they can attack at speed, orange team must react quickly to defend.
Coaching points: (coach watches from the side so he has full view of the pitch)
1. Discuss with a player and let the session continue-be short with advice if needed stop briefly and show/demonstrate.
2. body shape-first touch-looking for that space-players calling for the ball.
3. Defenders closing and covering- when pressing who's covering.
4.When you want to add a little extra for the defending team- use the small nets as wide players, rather than just kicking it away maybe try placing the ball in the direction of the small nets to simulate quick play out from the back.
switch teams around- reduce orange team to 6 players-have extra player as a neutral for team with the ball.
Finish the session with 6v6 game- 2 goals- only 3 touch.
