Over the River:
-3 20x15yd areas with center zone divided.
Description:
Players are split into 3 teams and placed 1 team in each zone. Team in the middle send 2-3 defenders with remaining player in front half of middle zone (may prevent pass across).
After pre-determined number of passes, attacking team (blue) plays ball to opposite grid for 1 point. Defending team (red) remains defenders.
If defending team (red) intercepts and completes a pass to players in the middle, the ball is played to opposite grid (yellow). Yellow team becomes attackers. Blue team defends. Red team replaces blue team.
Coaching Points:
Defensive pair prevent penetrating ball; Press together; Attacking team shape; Individual shape to prepare 1 touch penetrating pass; Communication; Speed of transition

Organization:
-Area to suit the size and age of the players.
-3 zones of equal size with the central zone divided into 3.
-4v2 in the end zones and 1 (or 2) strikers in the middle zone.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Development:
-Play starts with a team of 4 keeping possession 4v2.
-One of the strikers should check into the nearest neutral zone and link play into the far end.
-The 2 Reds can then try to keep possession using the other middle player as shown.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Progression:
-Play starts as previously but the players in the middle have to combine before playing out to the end.
Further Progression:
-Allow the middle players to track each other.
-Add a goal behind the end lines.
Focus:
Middle players should try to time their runs for when an end player has a clear pass forward.
Try to receive on the half turn (Can you see both ends of the pitch?)
If the forward checks to receive but doesn't receive the pass, he should return to the central area.
When combining in the middle zones forwards should be at an angle from each other.
