Technical Block: 1 v 1 Domination

Gameplay:

Set up an area with two gates.

S (server) shall play the ball into the middle of the area.

X sets off on the first whistle, and O sets off on the second whistle.

X must look to dribble through either of the two gates labelled A and B.

O has to try and stop X from dribbling through either of the two gates.

Technical Block: 1 v 1 Domination

Gameplay:

Player A starts with the ball.

They must dribble up through the three zones.

Players 1, 2, and 3 must stay on their lines at all times.

Player A has to try and cross each individual line.

Once the ball goes dead, 1 moves up to 2, 2 moves up to 3, and 3 joins the back of the line of A.

Core Theme: Finishing Phase

Gameplay:

S (Server) starts with the ball each time.

S plays to 1 who plays the ball back.

S then plays a through ball into the channel for 2 to run onto.

2 then looks to cross the ball into 3 to get a shot in on goal.

Use both sides, and swap the players around.

Progressions:

Have additional servers either side of the goal to allow for additional shots for player 3.

Add defenders.

Small Sided Game: Defending Underloaded

Gameplay:

Objective is to improve on defensive positioning and communication.

Section off the pitch.

Start off with the 3 centre halves (wingbacks to be added later).

The aim is for the three centre halves to communicate and work on their positioning across the pitch.

To start with the blue team are just looking to move the ball from right to left, looking to pull the defenders across the pitch.

This shall allow us to coach the positioning of the three centre halves.

Once the wingbacks are in, work on if the LWB goes up to press, the RWB drops in to make a back four, and the three centre halves shift across the pitch.

This can be progressed by adding midfielders in to again work on the teams overall positioning.
