Build up Phase with Coordinated Movements of each player.
#1 plays it to #5 who has peeled off with hips open. #1 also supports #5 by sliding over a bit to be an option in case #5 needs to play back.
*Whichever side of the field the ball travels to the closest center mid (#6 or #8) provides suport to player in possession of the ball aby peeling off defender and the other cm needs to stretch the field by moving diagonally forward.
In this case #6 has peeled off with hips open to field by dropping in a position of support for #5. #8 has pushed up diagonally to have good balance and help make the field as big as possible.
#3 has peeled off to be an option for #5 with hips open to field.
#10 checks into space opposite of 8 and moves to side of the ball to be an option.

#5 Should always have 4 to 5 passing options.

If #3 gets the ball:
- #6 should push into midfield to be an option
- #3 should be able to play #9 and #10
- #5 should also be an option if they can't go forward
If #6 gets the ball, he can:
- play wall-pass back to #3
- switch it to # 2 or #8 who can then switch it to #2.(Principle #6: if ball is played backward, we should look to swtich the field
- Play with #10, or #9
- Play # 4, who peels off if he sees that #6 has time on the ball
If #10 gets the ball:
- turn if no pressure
- play #3 out wide
- lay it off to #6 or #8
If #9 gets the ball:
- #10 can peel off to get lay off from #9
- play back to #3
- hold the ball and wait for support
- turn if they have time or if they can beat defender
- find #8 who made a run into space
*Our Goal is to eventually attack with at least 6 players. #9, #10, #11, #7 and our two outside backs #3 & #2. One of our Holding mids has ability to go forward and trail the play.

Roles of Each Player in 9v9 in Build-up Phase: 1-4-4-2
#1: Role of the Goal Keeper: keepers should learn how to support the back line in possession, how to distribute and be the first line of attack instead of just punt the ball long. Keepers need to learn to pass the ball on goal kicks rather than just kick it long.
#4&5: Role of the Center Backs: The back line plays a vital role in possession. The defenders need to learn how to support the midfield in possession, how to make the field big and how to help relieve pressure. The defense also plays a crucial role in switching the point of attack.
#6 Role of the Center Midfield: the number 6 & 8 players dictate the rhythm of possession. They need to learn how to support the attack from behind the ball and read each other's movements. They should never be flat.
#2, #3, #7 & #11 Role of the Wide Players: Players 2 & 3 provide width and penetration. They need to learn to stay wide and open body to the field and provide support to the midfielders.
#9 & #10 Role of the Two - Forwards: One of these Players preferably the #9 needs to provide depth and needs to learn to stretch the field and stay high and central and be available for the long pass option from the back. The other forward preferably #10 needs to look to check into the pockets of space by peeling off defenders and linking with the 6 & 8.
