Set up two Magic Box grids - approximately 10x10 to 12x12 - with 5-8 yard gap
Approximately 8 players per grid (numbers can be adjusted)
Need plenty of soccer balls - try to get 3-4 going in each grid at any given time
Players stay in own grid and may pass, dribble, and move to any location using cones as a guide.
Progression 1 - Players are allowed to move between both grids, but balls must stay in specific grid
Progression 2 - Players and balls are allowed to move between both grids
CPs: choice of technique in passing and receiving, recognize space (find and exploit space / scan-choose-do), body movement (checking to ball, backpeddling, receiving with open body shape), constantly scanning the environment, adjusting angles to pass/dribble/receive

Set up two Magic Box grids - smaller inside the larger
1) smaller in middle - approximately 10x10 to 12x12
2) larger around outside - approximately 20x20 to 25x25
Approximately 8 players per grid (numbers can be adjusted)
Need plenty of soccer balls - try to get 3-4 going in each grid at any given time
Players pass, dribble, and move to anywhere within the grids, utilizing the cones as guides
Allow for more free play here, but have numerous balls going at one time.
Now not just looking in one plane, but multiple

Basic Rondo Set Up
10 x 10 square for larger size group (Note: Ok to go with larger group to teach Rondo
Variations - Add second ball (either at feet or in hands), do a push up after a pass, switch with another person after your pass
CPs: Movement off the ball to support, receive across body to open up, recognize opportunities to play forward
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Rondo basis
Set up 6 grids of 15x15 or 20x20 each - all connected
Play 4v2 (or specify numbers that work)
Red and Blue teams start on opposite corners - Yellow are defending
Connect 3 passes then move to another grid - cannot go to the grid you just came from
Play for 60 seconds then switch teams
CPs: Communication, decision-making, awareness - where to go next, what pass is available
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Show team set up of the skinny 4-4-2 diamond.
Prioritize the following attacking movements:
- Width comes primarily from OBs and Fwds (weakside forward pinch middle)
- Central diamond players stay more connected and look to combine getting forward
- ACM has lots of freedom to create
- HCM screens the back line (very disciplined) and connect passes (pivot)
- OBs work up and down the sideline
Defensively - HCM holds to provide support (typically), force opponent inside into our numbers
CPs - recognize the shape of the team, start to understand responsibilities within the system
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
4v4 on small field (normal soccer laws apply)
Can play endline neutral before going to goal (endline players may also be used as support buildup)
Attempt to look forward when possible
Attacking Principles
1) Penetration
2) Width
3) Support / Depth
4) Mobility
5) Improvization
CPs: Quality movement off the ball, possess with a purpose, VST, receive with open body shape, be brave

Team Warmup (10 mins)
Layout - 6-8 cones per line. Create channels as players will need to pair up. Approximately 5 yards vertically between cones and 10 yards horizontally.
Movement 1 - Run up two cones, backpeddle back one, repeat all the way through
Movement 2 - Run up two cones, side angle shuffle to opposite back cone (must communicate with partner in other group as to not run into each other)
Movement 3 - Shadow attack and defend. One player from group "attacks" with no ball (simply moving back and forth up the channel). One player from other group is the "defender" who shadows the attacker with proper footwork. Return to group and switch roles
Movement 4- Slap roll (use both groups) - one ball every other cone. Slap roll across, leave ball, progress up to next one, slap roll across. Next player starts once ball is in front of them.
Movement 5 - Attack & Defend - ball at every other cone. Attacking player dribbles with ball halfway between other line of cones. Defender meets dribbler utilizing good technique to breakdown and force a certain way. Both retreat to cones and progress to the next ball
CPs - Stay low, balls of feet, bent at knees, light on feet, explosive when necessary, drop step
