Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Distribution Technical Practice: Dealing with Back Pass Under Pressure

Technical Activation

Set up/Organisation/Description:

• 2 feeders representing CBs
• 1 GK in goals
• 1 GK diagonally behind goals as shown

Option 1:

• Ball starts at feeder 1 who rolls ball out feet giving GK trigger to move and support
• GK receives back pass from player 1 and distributes out to player 2
• Player 2 then passes to player 3 
• Player 3 plays driven/ clipped pass over goal back to player 1 for process to start again
• Work 4 reps and then rotate. Also work out opposite side i.e. ball starting at player 2

  Option 2:

• Player 1 plays back pass to GK to distribute to player 2
• Player 2 then strikes on goal to GK
• If GK holds he then distributes to player 2 to strike into cone goal for GK 3 (If GK parries/ conceeds then player 2 strikes to player 3 with spare ball)
• GK 3 distribute to player 1 via throw or appropriate kick from hands

Progression(s)

• Players can follow pass and press GK (Player 3 has option to play round or over press depending on how attacker presses)
• Player 2 can pass across to player 1 to strike (Causing GK to readjust)

• Drop off and receive outside frame of goal/ deep to by line when striker pressing from close range
• Technique/ Choice of distribution/ weight of pass
