Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Power Ball

Practice (10 mins)

Set up

• Set up a square area as shown
• 2x teams, everyone with a ball
• 1 different colour ball in the middle

• Players pass / shoot to try and keep the zombie (blue ball) away from them and across the other teams safety line.
• Players stay outside the central area
• PLayers MUST keep their passes/shots below knee height to avoid injury
• When all balls have been used, the coaches shout "reload" and thepayers race to collect the balls before the game restarts

Progressions

• 1) Use more than one ball per player
• 2) Use more than one zombie ball in the centre
• 3) Increase number of teams (3 = triangle, 4 = square etc etc)
• 4) Use different size balls in the middle

• Different types of finishing

Think STEP

• Space - do you need to make it larger (easier) or smaller (more challenging)
• Task - can you change the task or challenge?
• Equipment - can you add target areas for example?
• Players - can you increase/decrease the number of players?
