10X10 Yard Grid
Progression
1) Player in opposite line checks to in front of middle cone and performs turn to the side and passes ball to the line where they started and follow pass. Players in opposite grid does same thing.
Turns to use: Ball across body by turning hips, inside foot cut across body, outside foot turn.

Developing First Touch:
Set-up:
4 players: 10 x 10 grid. One ball per outside perimeter player
Progression:
Competition > how many successful passes can you complete in 30 seconds?
1) Player in middle has to receive and pass with right foot (inside foot)
1b) "" with left foot
2) Player receives with right foot and directionally touches the ball to left foot to pass with left foot
2b) "" receive left and pass right
3) receive with outside part of right foot and pass with same foot
3b) "" left foot
4) receive ball in air and pass back on the ground
4b) "" left foot
***Progression: Take one ball out so that there are three perimeter players with only three balls.
- Player in middle has to receive ball from one of their teammates and pass the ball to other player who doesn't have a ball.
Competition:
How many successful passes can you complete in 30 seconds?
Coaching points: How should you receive the ball? Hips open and ball across your body. Players need to scan/peak before receiving the ball. How quickly can you receive and play?
Ball Mastery: (do this for 2 minutes at the start of this session)
1) player makes contact with inside of foot with ball and rolls ball under foot where the sole touches it all by moving forward. Stay with the one foot.
2) player does same thing but alternates with both feet.

3v3 + 2 in 15x20 or 10x20
Game #1: 3v3 + 2 in grid. Switch neutrals after each game.
- 3 minute games
- 2 Touch max
- 5 passes = 1 point
- Losing team has fitness (jumping jacks, burpess, pretty pink stars, donkey kicks, etc.)
Coaching Points: to score points, what do players need to do?
Game #2: 3v3+2. Switch Neutrals.
- 3 minutes
- team gets 1 point for every successful one touch pass played to teammate
- 3 touch max
Game #3: 3v3+2
- 3 minute game
- get one point for every wall-pass completed
Optional-Game #4: 3v3 + 2 targets on outside. Switch neutrals after each game. Play 3 games.
- 3 minute games
- Team scores by a point by successful switching the ball from one target to the other without it being intercepted by other team.
- Targets cannot play target directly.
- (Olders) Targets only have
- Optional (must complete two passes inside grid before playing target player).
Coaching Points: How can we speed the play up? (Answer: scan the field to know what to do before receiving the ball, limit your touches, take touch to where you want to go, hips open to field & receive ball across body) What must offensive team do when ball is played into target (game #2)? be an option and support! How can we connect more passes?

3v1 Keep Away + Passing Progression (15 mins)
3v1 Keep Away Warm-up: Grid: 10x10 Grid
Why? Perfect passing & receiving technique with pressure, movement off the ball and supporting angles.
Rules:
- 3 minute games
- first to 4 points
- if player in middle wins the ball or if the ball goes out they get one point. Players on outside get one point everytime they connect 4 passes. .
- If players complete more than 4 passes then they get one point
Passing Progression: 1 minute X 4. Switch middle player.
1) Player in the middle can't steal ball. Players on outside just work on movement off the ball as they move the ball. Two touches.
Coaching Points: Offensive players must always ***receive ball across body with hips open to the field (when is the only time not to? if defender is on you, what can you do?) What should supporting players be doing? No one should ever be standing. Constant adjustments in their movements.
*** needs to be stressed every session, whenever we don't see it happening, we need to address it.
