2v1 Drills

•Two groups competing with each other, with coach or server in the middle
•One player from each team goes in the middle of the grid and acts as forward
•Coach or server passes to either side, whoever receives the ball dribbles to make it a 2-1 with his team mate that is in the middle of the grid.

•Players will switch in three different roles, midfielders, center forward, center defender
•Forward makes move to lose the defender, then receives a pass from midfielder
•2v1 game
Forward makes realistic moves to receive
Midfielder must support the initial pass always
Look for return to make it a 2v1 (forward does not try to turn the defender)

•Two attacking groups to the right and left (red)
•Defenders in blue, one in the middle of the field, the other is covering the center striker
•Defender with the ball passes to right
• Midfielder will create a 2v1 situation
•Defender that passed the ball will recover to help other defender out
Quick play from the attackers
Wide player needs to be direct
Forward needs to make a smat run and lose defender to receive ball

•Attackers to the right and left, defenders in the middle and coach or server with the ball
•Defender faces away from goal
•Coach or server plays a through ball to either right or left
•Attacker not in position must make a supporting run while the defender turns around and tries to recover
Does the attacker shoot or pass?
Speed of player with ball
Does the player without the ball wait for a cross, go for a rebound, or pull back to support from behind?

•Player with ball passes to either side, and joins the attack
•Player not receiving the ball becomes the defender

2v1 Overlap
•Two groups of players, defender (red) and attackers(blue, work in twos)
•1st Defender comes out to defend
•1st attacker starts with the ball, second attacker makes an overlap run to either side of 1st attacker.
Does the player with the ball pass or dribbles?
Can the player without the ball run one way then change direction?
First attacker should be direct and then see where his teammate is overlapping.
