When defending a corner it is important to play zonal and man-to-man and make sure each defending player as a person to mark. It is important to emphasize goal keeper communication and for directions to be given.
Coaching points:
Heads on a swivel, Goal keeper communication, sticking with player once their run is complete.
Emphasize the important of recognizing the short corner.
Clearance should be to the wings and not to the middle of the field.

When defending a free kick, it is important to have a wall set up and the goal keeper instructing the wall where to be placed. the defensive line must hold even with the wall and track down the runners. As well as being aware of the wide players incase it is a trick play. Goal keeper must come out strong and own the space in the box.

When attacking during a free kick, this is a trick play that has one of our own players in the wall set up. When this occurs it allows this player to serve as a target player. The kicker is given the task to aim for the player in the wall and then is meant to control and turn for a shot on frame or a cross to the center player. This play can be repeated, and/or changed to a tradition free kick and players are given running routes.

When attacking on a throw in there are many movements that can be made. the player fronting the throw in can either control or flick the ball up with header. If the ball is controlled it can be given back to the thrower and then crossed in.
Coaching points:
maintaining possession and having the final product be a cross or finish on goal. Remind there is no offsides and players do not need to be around the defense.

When defending throw ins it is important to remember that there is no offsides and players can go under and behind. With this being said, mention the importance of sticking to players and being aware of their movements. players are encouraged to clear the ball up the field and not to the center.

For this drill it is important to give each attacking player a role such as assigned running routes and/or directional runs. Allow for the target player to be changed to allow for diverse repetitions. Run this drill for about 20 minutes and allow for the corner taker to be rotated out, and have services from both sides.
