Aim:
- To force the attacking team into one side with the intent to win the ball
Organization:
- 40 x 45
- Attacking team (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) score by passing through the gates
- Defending team (7, 9, 11) tries to win the ball and score
Coaching Points:
- Starting position to encourage 1 to play 3 or 4. (bait/fish)
- Once ball is played (i.e. to 3) 9 prevents switch as he moves to pressure the ball (curved/angled run)
- 11 slides to be inbetween the 2 and the gate (simulated midfielder) Has to be in position to press 2 if ball is played, and intercept pass if played to the gate
- 7 shifts inside to be able to press 4 or 5 if ball is switched or intercept pass into the gate behind him
- Same if ball is played to other side
Progressions / Variations:
- Based on team/coach concept have 9 pressure any ball played to keeper and 11/7 play inbetween 4/5 and 2/3 or 9 drops again and reorganises from the starting position
- Add in a 9 for the attacking team and a keeper/goal for the defending team where the attackers are allowed to play long to the 9 and he tries to score on the goal
- Add in a 3 also for the defending team and now there is a 9 and a 3.
- After playing in a ball now one player from each team can move into the next section for a 2v2

Aim:
- THEY 1-2 forcing opponent to the side to win the ball
- To create a 3v2 in our favour on the sideline
Organization:
- Half field with a zone no one can enter (triangle in the middle)
- Attacking team (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11) score by dribbling over halfway line on the sides
- Defending team (2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 7, 9, 11) score by winning ball and scoring on the goal
- 3/4 only participating to slide and cover the 7/11
Coaching Points:
- As ball is played to 3 or 4, 9 pressures at an angle to block switch and keep the ball on one side
- 11/7 releases from his man to press the ball, while forcing him to still stay on the same side
- Our other 7/11 tucks inside to make the space small, staying in a position where if the pressure on the ball is beat he can cover a potential switch
- 10 shifts over inside, able to cover and help press if needed on the side, and also able to intercept any pass played to the 6
- 5/2 sprints up to win the ball if played to opponents 2/5
- 4/3 shifts over to cover 7/11 that 2/5 left
- Remaining 3/4 shifts over more to the middle, and so does the remaining 2/5
- When possible when the ball is played toward an opponent on the sideline all players are in the lateral half of the opponent
Progressions / Variations:

Aim:
- THEY 1-2-3 forcing the opponent to play on one side to win the ball
- If the pressure is broken on one side, recovering behind the ball to reorganise and prevent a chance
Organization:
- 11v11 in a three quarter field space
- Both teams trying to score on the goal
Coaching Points:
- As ball is played to 3 or 4, 9 pressures at an angle to block switch and keep the ball on one side
- 11/7 releases from his man to press the ball, while forcing him to still stay on the same side
- Our other 7/11 tucks inside to make the space small, staying in a position where if the pressure on the ball is beat he can cover a potential switch
- 10 shifts over inside, able to cover and help press if needed on the side, and also able to intercept any pass played to the 6
- 6/8 need to shift to the side of the ball to defend the space and block passing lines while still being able to mark their man if the opponent is able to come inside
- 5/2 sprints up to win the ball if played to opponents 2/5
- 4/3 shifts over to cover 7/11 that 2/5 left
- Remaining 3/4 shifts over more to the middle, and so does the remaining 2/5
- 1 needs to be in a position to defend the space behind the backline. If they play long, pick up the through ball
- If the 1 can't get the ball, he retreats and defenders need to recover
- When possible when the ball is played toward an opponent on the sideline all players are in the lateral half of the opponent

1v3 THEY 1-2 Pressure by the 9
Aim:
- Teaching the 9 to make play predictable in THEY 1-2 (Goalkeeper possession)
Organization:
- approximate 15x15 space (adjust as needed)
- 1 chooses to pass to 3 or 4
- 9 curves his run to force the 3 to one side and take away his option / create a 1v1
- Repeat the same thing from other side
- The attacking team has to pass through the blue gates
- The defending team gets a point every time they don't pass through the gate
Coaching Points:
- Starting position for the 9 - has to be able to press either player
- Reading the pass of the 1
- Angle of approach to press player with ball (curved, not straight)
- Controlled pressure (slow down before reaching player, don't dive in, sideways body position)
- Prevent pass in behind
- Cues to change into full press to win the ball (bad touch, slow pass, inaccurate pass, ball in the air)
Progressions / Variations:
- 9 now chooses a starting position to force 1 to play to the 3/4 of his choice based on which player has less technique, if they are right or left footed, slower etc.
