Phase: eg. (Playing out of defense/role of the #6, attack zone-14, etc)
Pressing and counter-pressing in the final third. Emphasis on forwards and midfielders moving in coordination to disrupt and regain possession of the ball.
Organizations: eg. (Field dimensions- Number of Players- Cones- Bibs- ).
Within in a 7v7 SSG restricted game scenario. Gk for the blue team. 6-mannequins or poles.
Focus areas: eg. (Emphasis was on us pressing with high intensity from our shape, closing the lines between defense, midfield & attack & moving in relation to the ball).
The red team presses the ball only when they have a number of players in the general locale of the ball. This scenario has red #10 POB. Red #11, #6 & #8 are occupying passing lanes, limiting ways out of the pressure.
Key factors: eg. (movement & cues of opponents, angles of closing down).
Can only be applied if red has two or more players in close proximity to the ball. The first player to the ball has to apply high pressure and has the aim to take the ball.
If immediate pressure to teh ball then the midfielders behind #10 and occupy the passing lanes to tighten the zone.

The key to counter-pressing or 'genenpressing' is the immediate pressing of the opponents after the red team turns over the ball.
The red team presses the ball only when they have a number of players in the general locale of the ball. Genenpressing can not be done for long periods, due to the intense and fatigue sapping.
Key factors: eg. (movement & cues of opponents, angles of closing down).
Can only be applied if red has two or more players in close proximity to the ball. The first player to the ball (red #10) has to apply high pressure and has the aim to take the ball. The 2nd and 3rd red players (in this scenario) red 9, 11, 8 slides to the ball to close angles and apply intense pressure.

Pressing and counter-pressing in the final third. Emphasis on forwards and midfielders moving in coordination to disrupt and regain possession of the ball. Once the ball is won, red team has to move the ball quickly to open space and catch the blue team out of balance.
Organizations: eg. (Field dimensions- Number of Players- Cones- Bibs- ).

Once the ball has been retained from the press, the red team has to expand the field of play and pass the ball quickly, with limited touches to exploit the blue being out of balance.
The focus has to be on the red #10 connecting the ball out of pressure. The movement and angles of red #11 and #6 to detach from the prior press and open passing lanes to expand the pressure.
Likewise, red #8 observes the release of the red#6 and expands to full playing width. This has three effects:
1. Gives #6 a passing option out of pressure,
2. Potentially gives blue #8 an issue in countering to cover, if blue #8 does cover the passing lane into the red #8 leaes the passing lane into red#9.
3. Prevents the blue #8 from giving immediate pressure to the red #6.
Key factors: eg. (movement & cues of opponents, angles of closing down).
Players releasing from pressing on defense to expand with ball retention situations have to be walked through. Can the red players in midfield see and react to the situations quickly.

Once the ball has been retained and then lost by the pressure of blue #2 & #10. The red team apply the counter-press with the closest players to the ball. Red 9, 10 and 11 immediate shift to the ball, while red 6 & 8 recover a balanced position for the team
Key factors: eg. (movement & cues of opponents, angles of closing down).
Recognizing the loss of the ball and apply immediate pressure.
Three scenarios for the red team:
1. If close to the ball, pressure the ball.
2. If not close to pressure, can red players occupy a passing lane?
3. Create balance to the red team.
