Progression into a Skill Practice
Organisation:
Transition from the Technical to a skill is just the removal of 6 cones as seen in the diagram
4 Balls
4 players outside as shown who are the servers
1 player in the middle of each rectangle will become receivers with another player shadowing as a defender to apply pressure but not attempt to win the ball back.
Receiver is to control the ball and then pass it back to the server
Receiver then turns to receive the ball from the other server and does the same as before this practice is done for 50 seconds per player where the 2 central players then switch roles
Once complete the servers and receivers switch poistions and the skill practice continues
Once all players have had their turn as receivers the players switch back to the original positions

Progression of the Skill Practice
Similar scenario to the last practice but 2 balls needed this time the receiver is to now control the ball received and then turn the defender and play the ball to the other server.
Ball is received back from the server and the practice is continued until 50 seconds have elapsed receiver and defender switch positions for a further 50 seconds
Defender to shadow/pressure but not attempt to win ball
Receiver and Defender then switch to Server positions and the practice continues
Regressions/Progressions
Depending on ability and how you feel session is going you add the following conditions:
Speed/weight of the pass decreased/increased
Serve of the pass can vary foot/chest
Distance between Defender/Receiver increased/decreased
Defender can attempt to win ball back
Control with weak foot
Pass with weak foot

8 Players Bibbed on arrival in two colours
Players paired opposite each other as shown each wearing different colour bibs
7 Minute Session broken down into 60 second drills
Players start with two touch passing first touch is control with inside of their stronger foot second is the pass (60 seconds)
Next players must control with weak foot and pass back with the other (60 seconds)
Next Players must control with the strong foot and pass back with the other (60 seconds)
The serve is then changed to a throw player must control the ball with their foot and return to server (60 seconds)
The server and reciever switch roles and continue (60 seconds)
The Server and reciever switch roles again this time the serve is the same but the control is with the chest and then pass the ball back to the reciever (60 seconds)
The server and receiver switch roles and continue (60 seconds)
Mechanics of Technique:

4. Decide and present surface towards ball
5. Relax on impact
