1) Simple 1-2 pass back into the winger, who must take no more than two touches to positively run at and then through one of the two gates. The players must understand that the gates represent there runs in a real game, either cutting in toward the box, or running down the channel to then either cut in, or to put in a cross from deep.
- Pass back into the winger needs to be in front of him, explain again, that running onto the ball gives a winger speed and momentum against a static defender. A positive first touch and burst of pace will leave a full back behind the game.
2) Simple 1-2 between striker and no.10
No.10 plays the ball into the feet of the striker who's under pressure from a tight CB, using there body to see off the pressure, they pad the ball back into the path of the No.10 who takes a positive first touch through the defensive line and uses his pace to run onto it leading to a 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper while the defender tries to recover it back.
