gk starts in goal - 3 teams of 4 and 2 end men. One team defends in 8v4 style rondo - their aim is to defend the inside goals - attacking team can only score after 5 passes and a switch of play to the other side of the area. If defending win the ball they can score in the big goal against the goalkeeper or keep the ball and play with the 2 end players. 90 second games.
Coaching points:
Compact - protect the goal first
press and cover
triggers to press - touch - pass - receive in a corner etc

1-2-4-1 formation aim is to paint pictures of our principles of defending when high up the pitch
Coaching points:
Press and cover - number 9 press & 10 cover on opposition number 6 - 9 make play predictable.
Midfield 4 - shift together towards same side as the ball - seesaw effect - up and down as ball goes side to side
Back 2 - organise unit ahead of you - one pick up striker, other organises - pass on the attacker as he moves across to side of the ball.
Goalkeeper - stay high (be aggressive) be ready for balls in behind

patterns warm up
pattern 1 - play in triangles - ball goes inside, comes outside and switched back across - follow pass everytime.
Pattern 2 - played inside, played out and ball then play forward to other side of the grid.
Coaching points:
Time movement to receive inside - must move so balls don't hit each other - angles
back foot front foot if more than one touch
ball speed
Can we keep body open to play outside in one touch?
