Try and beat your opponent with your first touch and in a direction where you have space or other teammates to combine with.
Continually scan the pitch to help you to find a space to take your first touch into.

A starts the drill by passing across the square to B. A follows his pass and puts passive pressure on B. B takes his first touch out of tackling range of A and passes to either C or D.
When C or D receives the past they play across the square and repeat the exercise.
Start by taking your first touch to the left with your right foot and rotate clockwise.
Coaching points
Be on your toes when you receive the ball.
As the ball is travelling can you look up and see where your next passing option is?
Can you feint to play one way and take your first touch in the opposite direction?
Progression
First touch must now be with the left foot, passing to the right.
Increase the passive defender to 50% resistance.
The defender now tries to win the ball.
You can now take your touch with either foot and pass to either side.
