Key Factors

Organisation
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Key Factors
Furthest CM comes into the space, plays into CM who switches play into run of the advancing FB
Organisation
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Key Factors
Starting position of wide players
Movement of deep-lyer to open and switch (behind the ball)
Can we switch early or combine to switch?
Overload to isolate
Organisation
4 x 5min games
10 vs 10
Team in possession to occupy wide channels to stretch pitch
Team out of possession to defend centrally - can only enter wide channel when the ball does (1v1)
10 passes equals a goal
Scoring in wide goal equals 3
Game 1
No structure - allow players to roam - only condition is that in possession stretch pitch
Out of possession defend centrally - can only enter wide channel when the ball enters - 1v1 only
Game 2
Become position specific - adds realism and patterns and movements will occur which is linked into how we play.
Game 3
Now 2v2 can occur in wide channels, looking for relationship between FB and Wide Player (overlap/underlap) Decision making in possession
Game 4
Now the wide channels are open for as many to enter - decision making in possession, look to exploit the opposition weak-side through switches of play

Organisation
3 1/4 pitch specific practice
11v11
working with team playing 4-3-3
Opposition formation 4-4-1-1 - playing with mid-low block
4 x 6min games
Key Factors
Occupying 5 passing channels in possession
Centre backs - split into half spaces and be in a position to switch the play
Full backs - wide channels - can we play off opposition wingers shoulder and look to create 2v1s
CDM - Stay behind the ball and centrally, continuously scan and look to open and switch to opposition weak-side
CMs- Stay Central Channel as to not block pass from CB into inside forward, can we position ourselves beyond opposition 10 and look to play forward or to exploit opposition weakside.
Inside forwards - Stay in the half-space when ball centrally - in the middle of the square . Combine with advancing FB (ball side), slide 9 (disguised pass) or drive inside for shot
9 - Stay Central, ball-side, can we see you feet? Look to set wide players and spin.
Game 1
First 6 mins, free-play with concurrent feedback - look for outcomes linked into previous practices to demonstrate learning and understanding of topic.
Game 2
Problem - Opposition wingers are staying wider with our advancing full-backs
Solution - Look to play through into 10s feet
Detail -
CBs/CMs - Ball detail - driven or disguised pass
10 - see ball and feet, can we turn (half turn) play in the middle of the square. Triggers of movement.
9 - when 10 receives ball, movement to receive feet or diagonal run across
Game 3
Problem - Opposition 10 pins our deep-lyre in build-up phase
Solution - CB steps in or midfield rotation
Detail
CB look to step in to middle third
Deep-lyre drops in as second CB to offer protection if transition occurs
Same side CM advances and move centrally to act as a central 10 between the lines
Opposite CM slots in behind the ball in role vacated by deep-lyre, be available to get on ball and switch if needed
Game 4
Problem - They press higher (likely if chasing the game)
Solution - Move the ball quicker - combinations - can we stretch their back line and play behind?
Detail -
CBs - Drop off a little to create space
CMs- Stay goal side of ball - look to switch to opposition weak-side. Diagonal clip pass to winger to receive behind.
FBs - Stretch the pitch - try to play on shoulder of opposition wide player - create 2v1s with winger against their FB
10s - look to create 2v1s with full back - ball side - or play in-between CB and FB far side and receive diag pass behind line
9 - half turn, look to stretch back line and receive behind back line. If receive ball to feet - Pin CB - Set and spin
False Full - Back
Work the ball from one CB to the other, new ball side 8 to drift wide into FB position, FB to advance into winger position to create 3v2 situation
