Warm up : Player led warm up , 5 minutes maximum led by captain and vice captain. warm up is exactly the same as match day routine. stretching and foam roller to be done aswell 10 minutes max . warm up and stretching total 15 minutes.
Rondo : HIGH IMPORTANCE! this is a 4v4 that focus of the principles of pressing ,covering and providing a balance . can vary to a 5v5v5 and a 4v4+4+4. outside players are not to be blocked by or tackled by inside players. .. this helps build on our tactical side of our game - where we allow the opposition to have possesion but we dictate where they have it , where we cover players and where space and players are covered.
mentally this drill will focus players on working extremely hard to win possesion and once possesion is regained knowing when to play quickly or slowly to allow controlled possesion.
in possesion players are required to give an outside player on the ball 2 angles and create a passing lane to a central player or an option to a deeper player.
No comprimise on speed and aggression - if the ball is moving you are communicating and moving!
Drill no.3 : re-active to previous matchday working on improving our counter attacking - through pace of players , 1 touch passing and shape. players must reactive immediately when a T2A is available likewise when a T2D is required ( T2A transition to attack - T2D transition to defence)
Wednesday session : Same session however we now are active instead of reactive , what we have corrected from our previous session now becomes active and progressive towards our next game , drill 3 will become live with opposition players added in to give a better match day scenario. players will be required to problem solve now and organise and re organise shape and tactics in game.
