PATTERN 1

PATTERN OF PLAY - Playing Out From The Back

Begin unopposed to familiarise players with patterns

Pattern 1:

CB plays bounce pass with LB

At this same point RB recognises and makes deep run from advanced position so he is 'below the ball' - CDM (6) -

CB to 6 to RB who looks to play quick ball into channel (shown as pass 4)

10 & 8 make diagonal runs to lose their opponents, 10 plays first time pass into 7 run who has checked out to curve run

11 & 9 make forward runs into box

PATTERN 3

PATTERN OF PLAY - Playing Out From The Back

Begin unopposed to familiarise players with patterns

Pattern 3:

CB - LB bounce pass (if LB cannot travel with ball into opposition half)

CB - CB when ball is in transition, 7 comes in from wing position & RB sprints into passing channel

(LB, CB, CB all shuffle shape to the right)

8, 9, 10, 11 all make forward runs 6 holds position outside of box in shaded area

Option 1:

RB cuts ball back to 7 who can:- a) Shoot. b) play 1-2 with 8. c) pass/cross to oncoming 9,10,11

Option 2:

RB crosses ball into the box for oncoming players
