Skills Warm-Up (15 mins)

THE SESSION: 

Skills Session: Every player has a ball and moving in the space. When the Coach whistle the player does the move that the Coach says. Each series goes for 1 minute goes through a series of moves, turns, touches: For example: Murphy, Scissors, Lunge, Figure 8 Step Over, Foundations,Toe Touches, etc.

PROGRESSIONS: Challenge players to use none dominate foot

Alternate using each foot, find traffic to challenge the players

intensity, footwork, head up , technique, sell the move, accelerate and body postion

Passing Play Maker (15 mins)

THE SESSION:

PROGRESSIONS: Players start 10 yards apart. 1) The players pass and move in the space playing to space not feet. 2.) The person without the ball is the "playmaker" The player with the ball plays it to the play makers feet, the player maker plays thge ball to space and directs her teammate. Once the ball is played into space the play makers moves off the ball to receive the next pass. Switch roles after 1 minute.

KEY MESSAGES/POINTS: Increase the difficulty of the passing patterns and movement off the ball

Receiving Under Pressure to 1v1 (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

Player A starts the practice, plays into B who has made a movement to receive on his back foot. A presses immediately after passing (no tackling) B performs side move to get away from A and plays diagonally to C who looks to beat D and score in the shaded area.

Practice repeats and players change roles.

PROGRESSIONS:

B can join in for 2v1

Build Up Numbers Game (20 mins)

PROGRESSIONS: add 2 players into end zones. Start with 2v1 and then progress to 2v2. The team that wins the ball plays the target in and attacks the opposite goal. Once the target is played in the opposing team adds a defender.

After playing 2v2 you can allow additional player to be played in.

1v1 shooting from different angles (20 mins)

THE SESSION:

- Set up with 2 teams of approx. 7 players

- Mark out a 12 x 12 area on the edge of the 18yd line and 4 small areas ith a player in each

- Attacking team (Red) start with a cut back cross from square 1 with the striker has 1 touch and finishing on goal.

- Player who crossed follows their pass and then becomes the striker, and then recieves a ball from 2 with therir back to goal, turns and finishes (two touches).

- Every time a striker shoots they then go to the square that they recieved a pass from

- Once all 4 squares have delivered to a stiker, go back to 1 and continue for 3 minutes

- Defending team can catch balls that miss the goal. Every ball caught minuses from the attacking teams total

PROGRESSIONS:

- Defender (Blue) rushes up to put pressure on striker and if wins ball finishes in small goal

- Make sure that every time there is a new striker the defenders swap also

KEY MESSAGES/POINTS:

- "Prepare the ball" for your next action

- "Touch Bang"

COMPETITION:

- Keep track of score every 3 mins. Loosing team on the line!!

Numbers Up (20 mins)

Small Sided Game:

One team Starts with a Break Away unopposed except for the GK. Coaches tells the teams how many touches they get including the shot. 4 total touches is a good starting point.

Once the Red Breakway Player shoots Two White Players on the opposite team start attacking the Red or Opposite goal and the Red breakaway player defends creating a 2v1.

Once the 2 White players score or the ball goes out of bounds 3 Red Players attack the white goal & the 2 White players defend creating 3v2.

You keep adding players until you reach 4v4 and they play until one team scores or the ball goes out.

GK's are live players and play contines when they save the ball.
