Functional Attacking - 8v4 (15 mins)

Organization:

• 4 sets x 6 min

Instructions:

1. 8v4 Central Penetration - Ball is played into attacking team who connect 3 passes then try to penetrate centrally with ball in behind or FT to break the line and finish on goal.

2. Left Side Cross - After finishing on goal, front 3 sprint to top of box recycle runs to finish from a cross from the left. Wingbacks combine to attack space and cross. (2 different type of combinations)

3. Right Side Cross - After finishing from left cross, front 3 sprint to top of box recycle runs to finish from a cross from the right. Wingbacks combine to attack space and cross. (2 different type of combinations)

4. Rotate front 3.

Coaching Points:

• Back 3 - Rec Position of Front 3. Tech Ex to Break Lines (Speed, Dir, Disguised Passes)
• 6s - 3rd Man Play
• Front 3 - Counter Movements to Create Space (Be Unpredictable)
  • Combination Play - Rec to Turn, Hold to Attract, or Layoff
  • 3rd Man Play
  • Runs in the Box - (Timing, Zones - Front, Near, Cut Back)
• Wing Backs - Tech Exec - Crosses in the Box
