Movement Off the Ball
-1 Plyr in each section grid
-Ball player passes to one teammate, and switches with another to start
-2/3 tch mandated pass (pref 2 tch but 3 if timing of mvmnt cant keep up w/passes)
Emph:
-No static players, drill should encourage continuous movement
-Plyrs off the ball make sure that there is always an unobstructed path between them and the ball
-Importance of communication, and perception of the field when receiving (receiver must recognise who the passer is switching with so they know where to go with their pass and the switcher knows they are the next recipient, so must communicate that to the current receiver)
Prog:
-Players can now only pass to the player with whom the previous passer is switching
-Add another group of plyrs w/own ball passing to each other in same grid (1 plyr ea zone)

-Add up to 4 teams in same grid

-when play B receives ball, player C needs to be an option in the square beside her
-Def goes hard for fitness

Game 1: When you pass to an outside plyr, you must exchange positions w/him
Game 2: Outside plyr can come in to rcv ball but another plyr must take his place
Emph: Inside plyr drag def out to create space for outside plyr to come in & get ball
Game 3: Same as previous but 2/3 tchs

-Check in to rcv
-Check shoulder for pressure
-Create space by drag def away
-Exchange positions
*When we start indoor league, a key to success will be to exchange positions effectively

-5v5 (indoor)
-If a player passes the ball BACKWARDS or SQUARED he MUST run FORWARD (excluding the center backs) If the player does not run forward after passing backwards or squared it is an IMMEDIATE turnover and ball is played from the coach on the sideline to the other team.(whoever coach wants to pass it to)
Emph:
-Constant movement of the ball to create space for each other
-As a player passes the ball backwards and runs forward, can someone else take over that empty space that was just created. (Look at diagram for explanation).
-Constant exchange of spaces to have multiple passing options when recieving the ball.
-Can we face forward in our first touch when recieving the ball
-If we cant face forward, can we pass backwards or squared in TWO tchs. (This will allow us to develope more runs and cause fewer turn overs)
Prog:
-Stage 1: to score, a team must dribble with possesion across the endline (zones are not in play yet, that is for stage 2)
-Stage 2: to score, a ball must be passed into the zone for a runner. (through ball, there is offsides) Once you recieve the ball inside the zone, you must complete a pass inside the zone. (you are allowed to come back out and recycle and go back in
-Stage 3: Add 2 goals and go to goal! same rules apply
