Set up cones 10 meters apart. Have 2-3 players on each cone.
Run them through the following shuttles to warm up (can focus on just 2-3 of them if your kids are having trouble)
1) Passing at a standstill - get players to pass from their cone and then follow their pass
2) Passing on the run - dribble half way then pass to player on other cone, follow your pass
3) Dribbling - dribble from one cone to the other and hand the ball off to the other player on the cone. Can do regualr dribbling then progress to indian dribble.
4) Pull - set up cones in the middle of the shuttle, get them to drag right then pass. After, get them to drag left and pass.
5) Cul - curl from th right to the left and pass to the player on the other cone. Follow your pass.
Can replace/add any other skills you kids want to learn. Challenge them to complete it at speed once they are confident.

Make channels about 5m wide and 10-15m long (can use same channels from warmup). Pair players up.
Last week we worked on flat stick tacking now we want to incorporate that into a 1v1 setting.
One player is the attacker (starts with the ball) and tries to dribble it past the end line of the channel. The other player is the defender who will try to steal the ball and dribble it to the other side of the channel.
1) make sure the defender steps up to tackle and doesn't just "guard" the baseline
2) remind them not to just hit the ball past the defender, they need to cross the end line with the ball under control
3) remind them of the defensive points that were mentioned in the warm up (i.e. staggard stance, balls of your feet)
Once one player has successfully dribbled past the end line. Reset and switch roles (i.e. defender becomes the attacker)
If you want to make it more competitive, players get 1 pt for getting across the line successfully. Play for a couple minutes and winner can move up to the next channel (queen’s court style)

This drill involves passing, skills and shooting.
Set up 2 shooting circuit if your choice. In this example (left) we have a player passing to another player who would then dribble through the cones, do a pull to the right and the shoot on net. The other circuit (right), the player is passing to another player who will dribble the ball while zigzagging through the cones, they will then do a V-drag* (please demonstrate this first) then shoot on net.
* A V-drag is when a player runs to the left, stops, pulls the ball back towards them and then changes direction and goes right. If unsure what this is we can explain at practice. Or if you think this is too complicated for your athletes you can replace it with another skill (ex. curl)
For older groups, you can make circuit more difficult or encourage them to shoot harder and at corners of the net.

Separate your team into 2 teams and play an intersquad scrimmage.
Coaching points:
- remind them to spread out and make passes instead of just dribbling into a defender
- instead of making them take free hits when the ball goes out of bounds, just have a bunch of balls nearby ready to throw in. Throw ball into space to encourage players to spread out.
- try to make sure there isn't a player being "goalie" and standing right in front of the net

1v1 Tag (10 mins)
Make channels about 5m wide and 10-15m long. Pair players up.
This warmup is intended to introduce defensive channeling & work on footwork
The goal is to make it across the line on the opposite side without being tagged.
The partner is trying to tag them, but they must have (coaches choose) either their elbows pinned to their sides (t rex) or their hands behind their back (chicken wing).
If you tag your partner, you switch roles.
If you want to make it more competitive, players get 1 pt for tagging and 1pt for getting across the line successfully. Play for a couple minutes and switch partners (queen’s court style)
After a couple of rounds, we can introduce these coaching points:
1. Approaching the attacker with a staggered stance instead of straight on
2. Being on the balls of your feet instead of sitting back on your heels
3. Drop stepping to change directions and keep the attacker in front of you instead of turning to chase
