Capture the Flag (15 mins)

Capture the Flag

- Split the group into 2 teams

- The area is split in half, with a base at either end for each team and a jail in each teams side

- 3 flags (balls) begin in each teams base

- The teams must try and steal the flags from the opposition base

- As soon as a player crosses into the opposition half, they can be tagged and sent to jail

- No player can be tagged in either base

- If a player makes it to a base to get a flag then they must dribble the flag back themselves - no passing

- A player in jail can be freed by receiving a tag from a team mate, the jailed player tehn gets a free walk back to their half, so they cannot be tagged

- The player freeing the jailed player can be tagged

- The first team with 6 flags wins

Easier - Less flags and/or bigger area and/or less players per team/2 games going on

Harder - More flags and/or smaller area

Technical Points:

- Speed with the ball to get back

- Change of direction to beat players

- Recognition of when to go when players aren't ready or fake them
