Pass and Move
Good practical game to work on defensive and attacking skills.
4 Attackers in Red
4 Defenders in Blue
4 Support players in Green
The games start with 3 groups, Reds v Blue with the 4 greens support players inside the squares in each corner of the 30x20yards box.The objective of the game is that the Reds attackers have to pass the ball to the greens in each corner until they have passed to all the four corners to unlock the green players.Once a green is unlocked, they can comtinue to drible into play and become part of the red attacking team.If the Defender in recovers the ball 1 Red player must restart at the corners.

Organization:
1/2 field. Big goal + 2 small counter goals placed 5 yards outside of center circle on either side.
Instruction:
Ball starts with a goalkick. The Pressing team must organize defensively based on coaching tactics. The build up team can only score in the goal on the opposite side the goalkeeper passes the ball to. Therefore they must switch it to score. If pressing team wins the ball they can counter attack and score. They have 5 seconds.
Variations: Have the pressing team start with the ball and they have 5 seconds to score. (2) Have midfielder on build-up team start with the ball but they have to go back to goalkeeper first.
Coaching Points:
1. Compactness: Force the play to the outside
2. Pressure, Cover, Support
3. If the pressure is broken recover behind the ball at speed.
4. Angle, Speed and Distance of approach
5. If a bad 1st touch - Pressure, and tackle with front foot, if its a good 1st touch - Delay

Each 3rd is 10yrds x 18yds.Have 12 players into 3 groups, 1 ball for play and the other balls spread around outside of grid for easy access. 3 players in each defending grid, 1 attacker, and 2 defender. 2v2 in middle third with a neutral who is on team that is in posession. 1 GK in each goal.
INSTRUCTIONS:
2v1 in each defending box (call it the defending 3rd to relate it to real game situation). Each defender must get at least 1 touch of the ball and keep it away from the attacker, before they can transfer it to next box. Middle box must do the same using the neutral player before passing to final 3rd.Once the passage of play has gone to final third, attacker goes 1v2 and tries to score. if defenders win ball, they try to repeat steps by playing out from the back, 2+1 v1.
Coach players to support the player and ball when their team has possession and doesnt have possession. Go forward when we have support, If not, be patient and keep the ball and remind them to play what they see.
